We are looking for energetic, fun and kind individuals who are passionate about caring, interacting and educating children as Assistant Teachers for Infants at our downtown Valparaiso Little Angels Learning Center, located at 103 Franklin St in downtown Valparaiso.

All shifts available for all age ranges, up to 29 hours per week. Please ask the the hiring manager about schedules.
Salary
Minimum starting rate of $12 per hour
Starting rate based on experience
Essential Functions
Ensure the safety of all children; maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Maintain awareness at all times of children's activities.
Follow emergency procedures as outlined by the Y Emergency Procedure Guide.
Never leave children unsupervised.
Follow parent/guardian sign in and sign out procedures.
Follow provided curriculum activities, interacting with and motivating children.
Supervise and interact with children in a variety of activities.
Provide comfort to children
Document attendance.
Respectfully communicate with children, parents, supervisors and other Y staff.
Provide feedback to parent/guardian.
Adhere to work schedule and substitute for other staff as needed.
Provide upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment.
Follow emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards.
Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations as outlined in employee handbook and other communications. Obtain and maintain required training(s).
Accept additional assignments as deemed appropriate, within the scope of the job description.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum age 18 required.
- Previous child educational experience preferred
- Physical ability and stamina to perform the duties as outlined above, including but not limited to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking; bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds.
