At the Vancouver Housing Authority (VHA) we work closely with local governments and other community partners throughout Clark County to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and help families break the cycle of poverty. We provide affordable housing and housing assistance to low-income residents in Clark County. The Customer Service Representative welcomes residents and visitors to the VHA Main Street office; answers multiple line phone system; answers questions; assists with accessing online applications; provides information materials; and/or directs visitor to appropriate staff member.


Your skills and experience will support our mission as you:

  • Greet visitors independently and courteously respond to inquiries, assesses needs and either provides information or directs to the appropriate staff member.
  • Maintain visitor and caller confidentiality at all times and maintain visitor log and manage restroom keys.
  • Scan and index documents as directed, photocopy materials as needed, provide requested forms to visitors, provide forms left by staff for clients and documents needing signatures, and notarize documents as needed.
  • Provide information and applications related to low-cost housing and assisting applicants with filling out forms, looking up information, accessing online applications, accessing the Applicant Portal, and other related duties.
  • Answer telephone calls for the agency on a multi-line system by directing calls, taking messages, and making appropriate referrals.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail and faxes each day by sorting and directing to appropriate staff.
  • Receives keys and 3-day rent payments for Affordable Housing per established protocol.
  • Maintain neat, professional appearance of reception and waiting area.
  • Maintains schedule of use for community room.

Pay and Benefits

  • The starting salary range is $2,934 - $3,374 per month based on experience.  In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities act, the full salary range for this position is $2,934 - $4,074 per month.
  • Full-time, non-exempt, union-represented position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

  • Benefits package also includes 9.39% paid into WA PERS by employer, 12 company paid holidays, and generous paid time off accrual.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required plus some higher-level education or vocational training specializing in office skills plus at least 1 year of directly related experience or equivalent required.
  • Experience running a multi-line phone system.
  • Demonstrated computer skills necessary to effectively complete duties.
