JOB SUMMARY: A Sales Engineers, duties include assessing customer and business needs. Interface between the customers and engineering groups to assist in designing and testing software and creating hardware components. Oversees all activities relating to researching, designing, and marketing products on behalf of the company. Document and compile customer requirements into SOP for software quotes. Assist in the development of partnerships with other vendors. Duties include completing market research to find out more about the customers’ needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
From applications for completing tasks to the systems that control analog gauges and digital displays relating to J1939, and NMEA 2000. A Sales Engineer is responsible for working with the engineering department and customers to assist in the design and development of different forms of software. This process includes several duties:
- Conducts market research, the voice of the customer; identifies and tracks trends in the company's target markets.
- Gathering information from customers on their needs and collaborating with engineers to design the software to match the customers’ desire.
- Assisting Engineering in the creation of different diagrams and models that may be needed for each application.
- Making sure the software continues to work properly after maintenance and testing.
- Take notes of all aspects of the application for future upgrades and maintenance
- Collaborating on software development projects with engineering, sales, and the customer
- Consulting with clients and incorporating user-defined needs and feedback into application designs.
- Assist in the writing of code and scripts for applications, as well as installing, maintaining, and testing applications.
- Provide clients with technical support as needed and relay information to our development teams for ongoing maintenance and update needs.
- Optimize applications by integrating new technologies and performing upgrades.
- Contribute to sales presentations, as well as demonstrating prototypes and completed applications.
- Assisting the Engineering Team to perform diagnostic tests and debugging procedures while improving code and re-designing tasks.
- Generate ideas for software innovation based on market trends.
- Document development processes, procedures, and application version histories.
- Keep up with advancements in application engineering and innovative technologies.
- Identify and track trends in the company's target markets.
- Works with international cross-functional teams to resolve program conflicts (i.e. feature\cost etc.)
- As a product specialist, develops training and provides training materials and marketing content for products using internal or external resources.
- Analyzes and monitors direct competitors and the general industry. Provides detailed market\gap analysis comparing the product with key competitors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field; 5 years related experience; or equivalent experience, knowledge, and training in product development and customer service fields.
QUALIFICATIONS:
