KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions for multiple companies including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws
- Gathers and analyzes payroll inputs including pay changes and expense reports from supervisors
- Assists in maintaining payroll tax accounts and filings across multiple states
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Ability to maintain multi-state payroll tax accounts across multiple entities; correctly prepare tax reports
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or similar software, and payroll and accounting software (Paycom and Sage Intacct preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must work well under pressure, be able to interact in a team environment, be able to adapt quickly to change, and possess strong customer service skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting is a plus
- At least two years of related experience required
