THE TEAM

Modern in experience and timeless in taste, Velvet Buffalo Modern Italian delivers fresh ingredients with a side of rustic charm. Our rotating seasonal menu features thoughtfully crafted dishes made from scratch that are inspired by the many regions of Italy–from house-made pasta and artisan-style bread to sustainably sourced seafood and our own spin on traditional desserts. At Velvet Buffalo, we do classics really well.

THE PLAYER

You will serve customers with the consistency and quality food that they expect from our establishment. You will work as a team to create a memorable dining experience for all of our members and their guests.

EVERY DAY, YOU WILL

• Know and understand every item on the menu (including portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules); Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
• Work closely with the Chef to provide absolute consistency on every plate
• Timing is everything; work on timing to get every ticket out in an appropriate amount of time
• During prime service hours, stay focused on designated tasks. Communicate consistently with co-workers
• Practice safe knife handling; if training is needed, see the Chef
• Always look for ways to be productive when there is time to spare
• Open/close the kitchen properly and follow the opening/closing checklist for kitchen stations

Requirements

YOU WILL BE GREAT AT VELVET BUFFALO IF

• You have at least one year of Kitchen experience preferred but not required
• You have basic math skills required, must be able to add, subtract, and count change back to customer
• You legible handwriting, and strong customer service and oral communication skills
• You are able regularly to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms, lift, carry, and deliver boxes and items that may weigh up to 50 pounds
• If over 18, you are able to use slicers and heavy equipment
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

You are regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. You will frequently be required to lift, carry, and deliver boxes and items that may weigh up to 50 pounds. If over 18, you will be required to use slicers and heavy equipment. The environment can sometimes be hot and demanding. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
