JOB PURPOSE
Performs accounting duties in the areas of accounts payable, daily balancing, account reconciliations and inventory, as well as non-routine accounting support duties in areas of general accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND FUNCTIONS

- Will be fully responsible of accounts payable; filing, coding, data entry, journal entries, check processing, distribution of checks, research and reconciliations. Quality member service & confidentiality of accounting information being of critical importance in this position. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures as well as Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality Performs specialized calculations, posting and accounting functions.
- Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks.
- Distributes signed checks as required.
- Prepares garnishment checks per reports from payroll.
- Maintain Accounts Payable Table.
- Review and update Chart of Accounts on a quarterly basis.
- Answers all vendor inquiries.
- Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.
- Assists Accounting Manager as necessary.
- Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
- Assembles and processes overnight shipments to branches.
- Assists in monthly closings including Accounts Payable Accruals.
- Create fixed assets sub ledgers.
- Provides support to other accounting personnel.
- Responsible for writing department procedures
- IRA State and Federal tax reporting
- Provide accounting assistance to staff & Sr. Team regarding expenses & GLs
- Provides assistance in research and resolution on any Credit Union account as needed.
- Back up to all areas of accounting as needed
- Assist with tracking of fixed assets
- Assist with pulling data for Sales Tax and expense and purchase analysis
- Performs filing and coping.
- 1099 Review and process
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
ALL EMPLOYEES MUST QUALIFY FOR AND MAINTAIN A FIDELITY BOND
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Associate's degree (A. A.) or two years college level education in accounting or finance is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years experience in Accounts Payable or related function is required.
- Requires thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services. Must be able to operate all basic office equipment and must be PC literate with Windows applications.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to operate basic office equipment and be PC Literate with software applications. Must have the ability to utilize other job related software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time. You must communicate with members, employees and vendors in order to convey information about their transaction and you must be able to exchange accurate information with them. You will constantly operate computer equipment using a keyboard, 10 touch keypads and
other like office equipment to accurately calculate figures and input data. You will often reach on top of high cabinets for items; often position yourself to get under desks and cabinets; and constantly communicate effectively and efficiently with employees, members and vendors. The employee is frequently required to traverse across the office. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
