Key Responsibilities
Medication Distribution & Operations
- Fill and dispense oral and IV medications accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and distribute unit-dose and stock medications to nursing units and ancillary departments
- Triage and prioritize patient medication orders to support timely care delivery
- Maintain and support the integrity of Automated Dispensing Systems (ADS/ADMs)
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to support medication workflows
- Identify and escalate discrepancies or system issues to pharmacy leadership
- Apply advanced knowledge and skills in two or more pharmacy specialty areas
- Support safe medication practices and compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures
- Assist pharmacists and healthcare teams as needed to optimize medication use
- High School Diploma or GED
- Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician upon hire OR Oregon Pharmacy Technician License upon hire
- Experience Requirements (one of the following):
- Minimum 2 years (&Client; 4,160 hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB certification, OR
- Minimum 3 years (&Client; 6,240 hours) of hospital pharmacy experience without PTCB certification
- Prior experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
- Advanced PTCB certifications, such as:
- Compounded Sterile Products
- Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv)
- Medication History
- Controlled Substances
- Specialty certification (e.g., ACPE-approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state
