Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree.
Experience:
- Seven (7) years of professional experience with configuration management issues associated with maintaining and controlling all hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management.
- Secret level Clearance required.
Job Description:
VNE is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist II to help provide program management, systems engineering, and logistics support services to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic.
The Configuration Management Specialist II provides technical expertise and support in one or more of the following areas:
- Work closely with the Configuration Control Board in defining and implementing procedures for releasing new products throughout the entire life cycle.
- Provide change management and product configuration management guidance.
- Provide software ready for delivery on CD/DVD/Blu-Ray and future digital repositories to be imported into the NIWC Atlantic Configuration Management System, CMPro.
- Ensure any equipment/system installed or integrated into Navy platform will meet the cybersecurity requirements as specified under DoDI 8500.01.
- Ensure that any design change, integration change, configuration change, or installation of hardware and software is in accordance with established DoD/DON/Navy cyber directives and does not violate the terms and conditions of the accreditation/authorization issued by the appropriate Accreditation/Authorization official.
- Follow the provisions contained in DON CIO Memorandum: Acceptable Use of Department of the Navy Information Technology (IT) dtd 12 Feb 16.
- Ensure the procurement and installation of software governed by DON Enterprise License Agreements (ELAs) - Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Axway, Symantec, ActivIdentity, VMware, Red Hat, NetApp, and EMC shall be in accordance with DON CIO Policy and DON ELAs awarded.
- Support the development and modification of system documentation or assist in drafting or authoring the following documents/reports/plans. The documentation shall include:
- Backup and recovery procedures
- Engineering Change Requests/Proposals
- Installation/Modification Procedures
- Troubleshooting steps
- Common issue resolution steps
- Set up and tear down procedures
- Operation/Administration procedures
- Maintenance procedures
- User training documents
- Testing procedures and reporting

Essential Duties of the Job:
- Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
- Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
- Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
- Must be able to attend work each day, during scheduled hours, unless on travel or approved time off.
- Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face
