Position Summary:
Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking several skilled and dedicated Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologists to join our partner medical facility in Missoula, MT. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity where you will work under the direct supervision of the physician to provide advanced interventional and radiologic care to patients. Responsibilities include assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, operating specialized imaging equipment, monitoring radiation safety, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This role is integral to diagnosing and treating a variety of anatomic and physiologic disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the interventional suite, including sterile trays, specialized catheters, guidewires, contrast media, and other necessary equipment for a variety of IR procedures.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic angiographic and complex interventional radiology procedures by scrubbing in, circulating, and operating fluoroscopic and digital angiography equipment.
- Monitor patient's vital signs and condition throughout procedures, responding appropriately to any changes.
- Practice and rigorously maintain sterile technique and infection control protocols.
- Implement and monitor radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self, adhering to ALARA principles.
- Operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, making technical adjustments as necessary.
- Process and archive procedural images using PACS and document relevant information in the EMR/RIS.
- Maintain inventory of specialized IR supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and offer support to alleviate anxiety.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography Program.
- Current Montana Radiologic Technologist license upon hire.
- Current National Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) upon hire.
- Current National Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Strong understanding of radiographic and interventional principles, techniques, and radiation safety.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or Special Procedures/Interventional Radiology Lab.
- Advanced certification from the ARRT in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CI) or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) upon hire.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Experience with specific angiography equipment brands or EMR/RIS/PACS systems used at the facility (details available during screening).
