POSITION: Community School Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Principal
WORK YEAR: 238 Days
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Community School Coordinator will report to the Principal and serve as a bridge between the school
and external community partners to ensure the coordinator of programs, services and resources to
improve the academic and social – emotional outcomes for students. They will manage existing
partnerships, identify new partners, and monitor program quality and impact by using a data and results
driven approach.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Establish strong, productive, and trusting relationships with administrative team, school
personnel, partnership organizations, students and community to seek input on needs and address
barriers to learning and social-emotional needs and services.
2. Identify and organize existing services on campus via a needs assessment.
3. Integrate effective education, college preparation, family engagement, and enrichment services
into the existing school community in order to impact student achievement and ensure an
impactful community schools model in collaboration with school staff.
4. Manage day-to-day operations of the Community Schools model, including managing
partnerships, site plans, and coordinating resources as well as evaluating the effectiveness of
programs and strategies.
5. Develop and monitor Community Schools budget and provide quarterly fiscal reports on fund
spent and impact of programs.
6. Develop, review, and monitor grant plan on a quarterly basis analyzing data, impact and
providing recommendations on partnership expansion, in preparation for the application for the
Community Schools Program Implementation Grant.
7. Act as the liaison between school administration, key stakeholders, staff, students and community.
8. Organize and attend various school meetings, community events, and other outreach and grant
related events (open houses, community events, etc.).
9. Develop, maintain, and publicize a schedule of programs and activities offered at the school
and/or throughout the community
10. Analyze performance measures, school results data (internal and external) and/or program quality
to determine the successful implementation, transformative progress of programs and meet
program outcomes.
11. Develop, implement, and maintain a process that promotes referrals to programs and services
offered at the school and local community centers.
12. Develop, manage, and coordinate documents needed for internal and external program audits and
compliance requirements.
13. Ensure the timely submission of all required reports and supporting materials.
14. Plan, assist, and attend school recruitment events that may occur during evenings, weekends and
summer.
15. Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
● AA degree (BA preferred)
● Bilingual in English & Spanish (Preferred)
● Experience working in an urban school setting
● Experience working with community organizations, non-profit or educational programs
● Experience with youth development, academic enrichment and/or family support programs
● Experience working with and leading community partnerships
● Possess a growth mindset and love of learning
● Demonstrate proven leadership capabilities
● Have a strong ethical base and self-awareness
● Able to work independently and manage time effectively
● Able to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings
● Possess excellent interpersonal communication and written skills
● Need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
No new employee can begin employment until all local mandated trainings are completed and the fingerprint cards are processed by the California Department of Justice and it is determined that there is no criminal conviction that would prohibit the employee from working with students and staff.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,327
