What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tenant Resource Counselor-Per Diem position at Volunteers of America Delaware Valley?
General Functions:
The employee in this classification shall report to the Services Coordinator/Program Director. The employee is part of the treatment team. The employee performs a treatment function emphasizing accountability established through the funding source and according to agency policy. This employee is responsible for helping the client adjust to independent living through conducting risk/needs assessments, developing service plans for clients assigned to their caseload, and implementing those plans subject to review by the Treatment Team and/or the Director.
Scope of Duties:
- Interact and communicate (verbally and non-verbally) with all clients, staff, and outside contacts with respect and courtesy.
- Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, training sessions and other meetings as scheduled.
- Orientation and assessment of all new clients assigned to caseload via approved agency assessment tools.
- Monitor and document all clients' progress according to funding source standards and/or the agency policy and procedures.
- Complete home visits to monitor housing stability.
- Schedule and facilitate regular weekly/bi-weekly or monthly case management meetings with clients until it is necessary to develop a case management phase out plan.
- Update service plans with client's input.
- Identify and/or develop resources and link clients with needed services.
- Participation in case conferencing with other service providers who are working with the Veteran.
- Complete all required reports and other documentation.
- Demonstrate competency in program related certifications.
- Maintain client and staff confidentially in compliance with operational policy and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact appropriately with clientele, funding source and other community partners. Exceptional interpersonal skills interacting with clientele as well as working effectively with co-workers as a team player. Basic computer skills preferred. Valid driver’s license and able to meet Volunteers of America Delaware Valley standards.

3. Ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes remain fixed on a given point.
