What are the responsibilities and job description for the ALTERATIONS ASSOCIATE position at Von Maur?
As an Alterations Associate , your unique skills contribute to our reputation as America's Leading Department Store. You have the opportunity to work with customers as well as execute a variety of alterations, like hemming of jeans and pants.
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
- Own the customer experience - greet people sincerely, be friendly and thank every customer
- Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
- Disassemble, sew and / or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting - use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
- Repair damaged or defective merchandise
- Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing / alteration procedures
- Maintain a clean department and work area
Candidates must be professionally competent in all basic and some advanced alterations.
