What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Lab Assistant - Student Employment (Workstudy Eligibility Preferred) position at VTSU?
Responsibilities will be determined through discussion between the faculty and student teaching assistant/supplemental instructors. Examples of such responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
-Clean and organize the nursing lab
-Unpack and put supplies away
-Assist with lab scheduling as needed
-Clean and organize supply closets
-Potential to assist with nursing labs as needed/requested by faculty
-File documents
-Inventory lab supplies
-be able to travel between Williston and St Albans Nursing labs
The nursing student lab assistant should meet or exceed the following standards:
• Currently enrolled in the VTSU Department of Nursing
• Recommendation of at least one current nursing faculty members
• Successful completion of FERPA training through the CITI program.
• Be able to commit to the schedule as mutually agreed upon by faculty/student supplemental instructor
• Be honest, self-directed, possess initiative, display good judgment and a positive attitude in daily activities
• Have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in written work
• Be able to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and students.
• Be able to carry out the functions of this job without risk of harm to the health and safety of self and others
• Mastery of Microsoft Office/Outlook and educational technology
