Position Overview
Apex is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to support our North Atlantic region. This role is critical in driving purchasing initiatives, improving vendor programs, and enabling our operating partners to focus on service excellence. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with operations, warehouse teams, and finance to ensure the right materials and programs are in place at the right time.
This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical capabilities, business judgment, and a proactive mindset toward process improvement and supplier performance. Success in this role requires a combination of relationship management, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to simplify complex procurement challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the procurement lead for the North Atlantic region, covering operating companies from Maine through Northern New Jersey, and westward to Cleveland
- Analyze purchasing data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and vendor consolidation
- Support the rollout and management of regional and national supplier programs
- Partner with warehouse, operations, and field teams to align material strategies with business needs
- Track and drive compliance with key procurement initiatives and support adoption across partner locations
- Drive standardization of material usage where applicable, without sacrificing operational flexibility
- Lead and support negotiations with vendors and distributors, leveraging both spend analysis and operational input
- Lead new product and supplier onboarding processes in coordination with local and national teams
- Act as a liaison between Apex procurement leadership and field personnel, providing visibility, support, and structured communication
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills; confident working with spreadsheets, purchase data, and operational reporting tools
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence without direct authority
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with distributed teams
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, or a related business function is preferred
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 33% travel throughout the North Atlantic region (Location: Hybrid - Maine through North Jersey, extending West to Cleveland)
