Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist / Programmer with hands-on experience in brass and aluminum component manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing machined parts by setting up, operating, and programming CNC vertical mills while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis vertical mills using Autodesk/FeatureCam software.
Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for brass and aluminum.
Maintain organized records of programs, setups, tooling lists, and process improvements.
Operate CNC vertical mills - including programming, setup, and operations. (Haas, Milltronics, Bridgeport, Mitsubishi)
Set up and prove out new programs on CNC equipment including Pluritec; make and document adjustments as needed.
Maintain CNC programs to ensure high-quality precision parts with maximum efficiency and minimal waste.
Diagnose and resolve machining process issues.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements and operation sequences.
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality control teams to ensure parts meet specifications.
Recommend process improvements to reduce cycle time and increase efficiency.
Adhere to all safety and quality standards.
Document quality data and report non-conformities.
Use standard inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or 2-year post-secondary/associate degree with at least 4 years of experience.
At least 5 years of CNC programming experience, particularly with brass and aluminum.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and solid model CAD files.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Trade certification in CNC machining or manufacturing technology.
