Inventory Control Specialist- Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and assisting Customer Service Representatives and warehouse personnel with inventory related and Warehouse Management System issues. This position will spend the majority of their time working on the warehouse floor. This position may be requested to do other duties as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Respond promptly to all inquiries and complaints concerning inventory
  • Maintain a proficient knowledge of the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Maintain the product locator system in strict accordance with prescribed procedures
  • Ensure the integrity of the inventory and assist with physical inventories and routine cycle counts, reconciling with the inventory control system
  • Maintain a complete understanding of customer service requirements related to inventory control
  • Ensure product rotation is occurring as required by the customer
  • Routinely inspect the inventory for damage or shrinkage and report results to management
  • Periodically verify that inbound product is received accurately as directed
  • Periodically verify that outbound orders are staged by customer's qualify assurance requirements as directed
  • Handle returned merchandise recordkeeping in the prescribed manner
  • Remain vigilant and report any potential safety hazards to management
  • Report all customer feedback to management or necessary warehouse leadership
  • Answer phone calls and emails in a professional and businesslike manner
  • Prepare and maintain reports as directed by management
  • Any other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:

Citizenship - Must be a United States Citizen
Criminal Background and Pre-Employment Drug Test - A clean criminal history and passing drug test are mandatory
Education - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
Experience - Minimum 2 years experience in warehouse or distribution center setting; knowledge of warehousing and logistics terms and processes is a plus

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Proficient in basic math applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and good keyboard and PC skills
  • Experience utilizing a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Must have good people skills and work effectively in a team environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to stand, sit, squat, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and/or kneel for up to 12-hour periods and repetitively
  • Exposure to varying temperatures: heat, cold, wet, damp, drafty
  • Work on concrete and unlevel surfaces
  • May be required to climb ladders and stairs
  • Work around hazardous materials and may be exposed to carcinogens, toxic, and explosive materials.
  • Possible exposure to areas with high noise levels that may require hearing protection
  • Use hands and fingers to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights
  • Utilize muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds
