Warehouse Assistant & Technical Specialist

Job Purpose

Our Warehouse Assistant works in activities of the warehouse, which involves receiving and shipping of goods, ensuring efficient, organized storage and maintaining a clean, safe environment. The Warehouse Assistant also has a technical aptitude to ensure our equipment is repaired properly and efficiently. We rely on a high-functioning warehouse and therefore this detail-oriented person will help ensure fulfillment of customers’ needs through inventory control, equipment maintenance, and organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Shipping, receiving and storage of all inventory and supplies.
• Maintain strict control over inventory levels to meet internal and external demand of product.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed in the warehouse and in the field.
• Record and maintain parts inventory related to all equipment repairs.
• Daily processing of orders for both customers, delivery vans and satellite warehouses.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Drive commercial delivery vehicle for service sales support.
• Assist the Warehouse Manager in their daily tasks to ensure efficacy and efficiency in the warehouse and in the business.

• A persistent and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Previous work experience in a warehouse or shop setting is an asset.

Qualifications

• Education or experience in warehousing or similar.
• Experience in maintaining and servicing mechanical equipment.
• Possession of a valid Forklift License is an asset.
• Working knowledge of WHMIS with GHS is an asset.
• Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Clean driving record and habits.

Working Conditions

The bulk of work time will be spent in the warehouse and at your desk. As needed, you will travel to customers’ place of business. Duties often will be performed indoors and occasionally outdoors that may be without air conditioning and/or with minimal heating in any weather condition.

Physical Requirements

Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer. Duties require twisting, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to maneuver large volume drums with some mechanical assistance is required.
