Job Description
Wagstaff Law Firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to join our team on a part-time contract basis. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys supporting people operations, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking to build or broaden their HR experience in a dynamic workplace.
You’ll play a key role in keeping our HR function organized and efficient—supporting recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee records, and other administrative tasks.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with new hire onboarding, including document collection, background checks, and orientation prep
- Maintain and update employee records and HRIS data
- Initial candidate screening and scheduling interviews
- Support benefits administration and employee status changes
- Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communication
- Help track HR compliance tasks
- Draft internal HR communications and announcements
- Provide general administrative support as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of administrative experience
- Prior experience in HR or recruiting experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High attention to detail and confidentiality
- Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
- Experience with an HRIS or ATS system is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or coursework in HR or a related field a plus (but not required)
- Associates degree required

- Base salary range of $24-30/hr, based on experience and skillset.
