Facilities Maintenance Technician

Washworld Inc.
De Pere, WI Full Time
POSTED ON 8/5/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/31/2026

At Washworld, Inc., we don’t just build world-class automatic vehicle wash systems, we engineer excellence. For over 25 years, we’ve grown through innovation, quality, and our commitment to doing things right. We’re proud of our clean, modern facility, and we’re looking for a hands-on problem solver to help us keep it that way.

As our Facilities Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the go to expert for maintaining, repairing, and improving our facility. From equipment upkeep and minor electrical work to patching drywall and prepping for spring landscaping, you’ll do a bit of everything to ensure our building, grounds, and shop floor are always in top shape.

What You’ll Be Taking Care Of:

Facility & Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintain forklifts, jib cranes, air compressors, cardboard compactor, and hand/power tools
  • Troubleshoot, install, adjust, and repair facility systems and equipment
  • Diagnose and fix plumbing issues (toilets, sinks, water fountains, filter changes, etc.)
  • Inspect and perform light repairs on dock/overhead doors, locks, and pedestrian access
  • Perform drywall patching, basic carpentry, painting, and mounting tasks
  • Replace light bulbs/ballasts and handle basic 120V electrical work
  • Perform compliance maintenance and safety inspections on equipment and systems (e.g., eyewash stations, fire systems, and LOTO procedures
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors for specialized services and inspections
  • Maintain documentation of repairs, inspections, and materials used

Grounds Care

  • Take pride in our exterior: mow lawns, assist with landscaping, clean up debris
  • Monitor and maintain our decorative pond (seasonal startup/shutdown, cleaning, water treatment)
  • Conduct minor roof inspections/repairs, patch blacktop, pressure wash exteriors, and clean cameras

Janitorial & General Upkeep

  • Clean and restock restrooms, mop/vacuum floors, wash windows, take out trash
  • Keep common spaces, break rooms, offices, and plant floor clean and organized
  • Order and stock janitorial/maintenance supplies

Support for the Production Team

  • Build and modify pallet racking, shelving, workstations, and benches
  • Design/fabricate basic fixtures and jigs (light welding as needed)
  • Help source and manage shop tools
  • Assist with light-duty assembly work when needed

What You Bring to the Table:

Experience: 2 years of hands-on facility or equipment maintenance experience (industrial or manufacturing setting preferred)

Skillset: Comfortable using hand and power tools, performing basic electrical and plumbing work, and handling general facility upkeep (painting, patching, minor roof repairs, janitorial duties, etc.). Basic welding experience is a plus—but nothing wild

Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and work both indoors and outdoors as needed

Problem Solving: You don’t wait for problems, you spot them early, troubleshoot quickly, and figure out how to fix them (on your own or with contractors)

Communication: Clear, professional, and respectful when coordinating with coworkers, leadership, vendors, and inspectors

Ownership: You take full responsibility for the condition, safety, and function of the facility. You’re trusted to follow through and get things done without being micromanaged

Resourcefulness: Whether it’s a tool, a person, a quote, or a YouTube video, you find the solution and make it work

Reliability: Willing to be on call for occasional after-hours issues (like fire system alerts). It’s rare, but we need someone who’s ready when it matters

What You’ll Get:

  • A consistent Monday through Thursday schedule, working 6:15 AM to 4:45 PM
  • Competitive pay along with health, dental, and life insurance
  • 401(k) match to help you plan for the future
  • Paid time off for holidays and vacation, plus paid time off to volunteer in your community
  • A clean, air-conditioned and heated factory so you’re comfortable year-round
  • Monthly birthday celebrations with free food and a chance to connect with coworkers
  • Fun company events including our annual picnic, milestone anniversary recognitions, and Christmas party
  • A supportive team environment where your work is valued and appreciated – seriously!

Final Word:

This isn’t just a job. It’s your chance to take full ownership of a facility that powers an industry-leading company. You’ll be the person people rely on to keep things running, looking sharp, and staying safe. If you thrive in a hands-on environment and enjoy variety in your day, you’ll love it here.
