Ukiah Waste Solutions, Inc. a Waste Connections Company, is currently hiring for an Outreach Coordinator.
The Outreach Coordinator supports the community through waste reduction education and outreach programs including: business and food waste, construction and demolition, single and multi-family residence outreach, schools, and community events.
Schedule is Monday - Friday with occasional weekends. Starting pay is $25 per hour. The pay range for this job category is $25 - $28 per hour.
Job Description:
The Outreach Coordinator will focus on some of the large projects mentioned above, as well as day-to-day tasks such as answering questions regarding the how-tos of recycling, giving classroom presentations to elementary through college education levels, leading and coordinating Recycling site tours, and other work as assigned. This position will operate independently and in the field for many of the outreach activities.
Responsibilities:
Daily Contamination Calls for LCWS, CWS, and UWS
Bi-Annual Newsletter Design for Clearlake, Lake County, and Ukiah
Weekly social media posts
Mail new customer mailers to Ukiah, Lake County and Clearlake customers daily
Public Education design and distribution
Assistance with making Public Education videos
Compost Sales, Marketing, Reporting and Testing
LCWS &CWS Quarterly & Annual Reporting
Clearlake Ordinance Exemption Tracking
LCWS & CWS & AB341 Outreach
Maintaining Site Permits and Licenses
Completing CalTrans/State Park Bid Paperwork
Maintaining Signage for all facilities
Assisting with the SB1383 route audits in all areas
Monthly Billing Flexfield data audits to ensure compliance data is inputted properly for CWS, LCWS, and UWS (Due by the 24th of each month)
Assist with a large data audit to determine compliance data for UWS, LCWS, and CWS
City of Ukiah Duties with Restated Franchise Agreement:
AB1826/SB1383 Waiver Tracking
City of Ukiah comprehensive quarterly reporting
AB1826/AB341/and SB1383 Outreach
Bolstered School Outreach in the City of Ukiah
Route Audit implementation
Bolster tabling event involvement
Provide Edible Food Recovery Education Annually
Site Visits
Multi-Family on-site trainings
Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge and passion for working with local recycling and waste reduction resources.
Ordering supplies and sign ordering
Responsible for Cal Trans and parks contracts.
Taking ownership of the Lake County reporting.
Must have efficient and organized work habits, and be flexible to handle needs as they arise.
The successful individual for this role will be able to change direction quickly, work on multiple deadlines simultaneously and prioritize amongst many different projects, both on a daily basis and projects with long term completion goals.
Experience giving presentations to large and small groups.
Demonstrated experience working through projects with little supervision from start to finish.
Willing to travel.
