What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Director, Corporate FP&A position at Waters Corporation?
Overview
The Finance Director of FP&A role will report to the Senior Director of FP&A and will help position Waters for success by driving the annual planning process for the corporation while having an understanding of internal and competitive dynamics. This person will be responsible for planning the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, ROIC, etc. This will also be responsible for supporting investor relations by helping them understand business trends and performance compared to competitors.
Responsibilities
- Drive operational performance of current year forecasts and long-range AOP by defining targets for business units to ensure the corporation meets its financial, operating, and strategic objectives.
- Create monthly closing package, which clearly communicates a cohesive and concise story around corporate results for the CEO, CFO & Executive Committee to make informed decisions, that focus on business drivers behind financial data and potential implications on future results.
- Manage/supervise FP&A functions in the organization to ensure systems, calendars, and templates enable the organization to comply with company deadlines as effectively as possible.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on major company initiatives by providing value-added financial analysis, guidance, and review of business decisions and scenarios. This includes but is not limited to, operational efficiency, cost saving opportunities, capital expenditure decisions, vendor selection and negotiation, etc.
- Ad hoc financial analysis.
Qualifications
- BS in Finance with MBA preferred
- 12 years experience, minimum of 5 years management experience
- Operates with integrity, transparency and humility
- Excellent communication skills and comfortable presenting to executives when/if needed
- History of progression and progressively more responsibility
- Carries a broad global perspective of markets, tech, and trends
- Balances strategic thinking and accountability in execution to deliver results
