Position Avaliability: 2022-2023 school year
Position Criteria:
Valid Iowa teaching license, required
Teacher-elementary classroom endorsement (K-6), required
Experience teaching primary grades, preferred
Performance Criteria:
Full support and implementation of Responsive Classroom practices that are designed to create safe, joyful, and engaging classroom and school communities for both students and teachers.
Flexible, highly motivated, positive, and enthusiastic about working with children.
Understanding and experience with the workshop model and/or project-based learning.
Demonstrates an understanding of the elements of a PLC and an ability to apply that understanding to a team situation.
Solid understanding and proven application of the Waukee Framework for Meeting the Needs of All Students.
A solid understanding of and experience in using multiple teaching methods: collaborating, co-teaching, whole group/small group/individualized instruction.
Commitment to differentiated instruction.
Desire for growth is evident through personal and professional goals and willingness to collaborate with instructional coach and building/district expects.
Record of recent staff development/ongoing education and knowledge of current research.
Understanding of formative assessment and evidence of using data to adapt to individual needs of students of all ability levels.
Evidence of effective routines and procedures that lead to a positive classroom environment that promotes student achievement.
Articulate in oral and written communications.
Knowledge of and experience with using current technology to enhance learning.
Experience with diverse learners: Special Education, ELP, ESL, etc.
Proven proactive and positive communication with parents and families.
Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to implement a problem-solving process and use data to support supplemental and/or intensive interventions.
