This first-shift material handler position earns a starting wage of $16.00 - $17.00/hour, depending on experience. Hourly wage includes dependability bonus. You would also be eligible for full-time benefits, including medical, dental, vision insurance, vacation time, holiday pay, short-term disability, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and more.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FIRST-SHIFT MATERIAL HANDLER
As a Material Handler, you keep the manufacturing lines supplied with the materials they need to build our quality products. Your efficiency keeps the flow of production going so that we are able to keep working at peak capacity. You receive, unload, move, and label all purchased parts from receiving into inventory. With attention to detail, you accurately count and keep track of materials. You move materials by forklift or pallet jack. You also manually carry inventory to storage on the second floor. You love that you get to be physically active at work! With pride, you maintain the vinyl warehouse in an organized fashion.
You also get to ride the sweeper and use the floor scrubber throughout the day to make sure the plant floors are free of debris. Keeping the vinyl bins at saw locations from getting full, you weigh them for return to the supplier or for recycling. You carefully operate the trash compactor, cardboard compactor, and glass compactor. Passionate about safety, you eliminate or control unsafe conditions and work practices that you have the authority to control. You always use safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. As a can-do person who likes to keep everything in order, you get great satisfaction out of helping our production floor run smoothly.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FIRST-SHIFT MATERIAL HANDLER
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience
- Ability to get forklift certification (we will train and assist with getting the certification)
- Ability to read and understand bills of lading and inventory documentation
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
A working knowledge of inventory systems in a manufacturing environment, including computer systems like ERP and MRP is preferred but not necessarily required. Are you attentive to detail? FIRST-SHIFT WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time manufacturing position that works the first shift from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Overtime as needed.
