Weatherly Inn Senior Living Community is looking for a friendly, outgoing, caring individual to supervise wait staff and serve residents in our beautiful dining room. This is a full-time supervisory position. 2 years experience and experience working with seniors is a plus.
JOB SKILLS (Abilities essential to the job.)
- Read, write, speak and understand English.
- Lift 50 pounds and carry 35 pounds.
- Push 250 pound resident in wheelchair or cart of same weight.
- Sit, stand, walk, squat, and bend at waist multiple times a shift.
- Perform repetitive arm/hand movement & reach above shoulder.
- Proficient at operating: extractor, vacuum, culinary & dish machinery.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: GED or High School Graduation preferred.
- Experience: 2 years in same or job related field preferred required.
- Certificates: Food Handlers (within 14 days) required.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, multi-tasking, and conflict resolution skills.
- Must pass a thorough background check.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Basic essentials of the position)
- Learn to know special needs of residents and report changes in behavior (physical or emotional) to nursing.
- Be familiar with and follow Employee Handbook, Performance Expectations and specific shift supervisor job duties.
- Able to receive/return routine phone calls from TWI within 24 hours; urgent within 4.
- Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to maintenance or supervisor.
- Report immediately any on the job injury to supervisor or charge nurse.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, train, mentor, and discipline front of house staff when in charge and in conjunction with Dining Services Manager.
- Provide timely written performance evaluations for front of house staff with action plan when improvement required.
- Know which servers are on schedule and assign sections on a rotating basis.
- Check Guest Meal and Fireside Room reservations at front desk.
- Ensure set-up and beverage service for events on your shift.
- Greet all guests and ensure that their needs are met with a pleasant dining experience.
- Set up tray service and ensure correct posting of charges.
- Check temperatures, and complete other assigned tasks.
