Data Center Technician-Swing shift, weekends

WebNX is seeking a dedicated and skilled Data Center Technician to join our operations team in Ogden, UT. The Data Center Technician is responsible for the day-to-day physical operations within our data center facilities, ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of our infrastructure. This hands-on role involves a variety of tasks, from hardware installation and troubleshooting to cabling and inventory management in a 24/7 critical environment.

This position is 100% onsite at our Ogden, Utah, HQ location.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform physical racking and stacking of servers, network equipment, and storage devices.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues, including server failures, network connectivity problems, and power issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on data center equipment, including cleaning, component replacement, and firmware updates.
• Assist with equipment migrations, upgrades, and data center build-outs.
• Ensure proper labeling, dressing, and management of all cabling within racks and pathways.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all data center assets, components, and spares.
• Respond to and resolve tickets related to hardware, connectivity, and physical access requests.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of work performed, configurations, and inventory changes.
• Adhere strictly to all data center safety protocols, security procedures, and compliance standards (e.g., OSHA).

Qualifications:

• 1 years of experience working in a data center, IT operations, or similar technical environment.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Network , Server , and Data Center Technician certifications) are preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with basic networking concepts (IP addressing, VLANs, routing).
• Strong knowledge of server hardware and components.
• Appreciation of Star Wars is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle critical situations.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and stand/walk/sit/bend/push/pull/reach for extended periods.
• Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push, and pull.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights (e.g., on ladders).
• Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
• Ability to work in a data center environment, which may include elevated noise levels, hot/cold aisles, and airflow.

Schedule:

• Swing shift, mandatory Sundays.
• Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
