What You'll Do
As a Parent Coach / Family Support Social Worker, you will:
- Teach & Coach Parents. Deliver the Nurturing Parenting Program (training provided) and help parents build confidence in communication, advocacy and self-sufficiency.
- Support Families in Daily Challenges. Connect families with housing, transportation, counseling, medical care and community resources.
- Provide Short-Term Support. Offer crisis intervention, problem-solving, and referrals to ensure families get the help they need.
- Document Progress. Complete service plans, progress notes, and reports on time to keep families moving forward.
- Stay Connected. Maintain regular in-person and weekly contact with families and partner agencies.
- Travel Locally. Meet families in their homes across Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties using your own vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, or a related Human Services field.
- At least 1 year of human services experience (preferred).
- A valid Michigan driver’s license, registration and insurance, and reliable transportation.
