Job Title: Assistant Branch Manager Department: Branch
Reports to: Branch Manager Classification: Exempt
Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting with the direction and administration of Branch operations. Ensures that established policies and procedures are followed. Oversees the provision of a full range of services to members and prospective members. Ensures that members are promptly and professionally served. Acts as Branch Manager as necessary. Trains, directs, and assists in supervising Branch staff. Performs various Branch functions as required.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for assisting in the supervision of Branch operations.
- Ensures that operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and audit standards. Provides suggestions for improved effectiveness.
- Take consumer and home equity loan applications; processes loans; prepares loan documents and closes loans. Assists team members with loan closings and member inquiries.
- Identifies and cross sells appropriate deposit, loan, and convenience products by assessing members’ financial needs and offering suitable products.
- Answers questions resolves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party. Assists with resolution of member bookkeeping and checking account problems.
- Promotes Branch business development and seeks to broaden member base. Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services.
- Completes required reports and records and ensures that Branch functions are properly documented.
- Assists with implementing changes to established policy and procedures within the Branch.
- Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
- Meets individual and credit union service goals on a consistent basis.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relations with Branch personnel.
- Provides assistance, direction, and supervision as needed.
- Reviews and monitors the work of branch personnel. Provides suggestions and support, as necessary.
- Assists with orientation of new employees and staff training sessions. Ensures that personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Performs cross training, as necessary.
- Assists with determining appropriate staffing levels and scheduling employees.
- Assists with tracking individual progress and conducting performance appraisals. Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed.
- Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and significant problems. Provides feedback to supervisor on credit union programs and promotions.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members.
- Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly and courteously resolved. Answers members’ questions or refers appropriately Follow-up is provided as needed.
- Ensures the members are informed of Credit Union services, products, and policies. Cross-sells services.
- Maintains and projects the credit union’s professional reputation. Maintains privacy of member account information.
- Keeps up to date on credit union regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures that the work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. The desk area is secure in accordance with the Clean Desk Policy.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Cross trains branch staff as needed.
- Replaces Branch Manager, as necessary. Assists with personnel functions as assigned.
- Attends meetings and training as required.
- Actively and professionally cross sells the credit union services.
- Performs related clerical and secretarial duties as needed.
- Report to work as scheduled. Informs appropriate party when unplanned absences occur.
Performance Measurements:
- Member services functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures.
- Good business relations exist with members. Member problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved.
- Good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and Management. Appropriate assistance is provided to area staff as needed. The supervisor is appropriately informed of area activities.
- Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Works with team to ensure production goals are met.
- The Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.

Education and Experience:
- College and at least four years of financial experience in lending or sales. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Two to five years of experience at a full-service financial institution. Supervisory experience preferred.
