ALN - Housekeeper

GENERAL PURPOSE:

To be part of a vibrant team devoted to delivering a unique and enjoyable customer service experience for our residents and visitors.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean resident suites according to schedule, including but not limited to:

1. vacuuming carpets; 
2. spot-cleaning carpets as necessary;
3. cleaning ceilings and walls as necessary (e.g., removing cobwebs);
4. dusting furniture, shelves, light fixtures, and other surfaces;
5. cleaning bathroom, including shower stall, sink, toilet, counter, and floor;
6. cleaning kitchenette, including sink, counter, refrigerator, and floor;
7. defrosting refrigerator as necessary;
8. removing trash;
9. removing and laundering bed linens and towels;
10. replacing bed linens and towels; and
11. cleaning windows as necessary.

• Assist in Annual Suite Service of resident suites according to schedule.
• Clean community common areas to schedule, including but not limited to:

1. vacuuming carpets;
2. spot-cleaning carpets as necessary;
3. mopping floors;
4. cleaning ceilings and walls as necessary (e.g. removing cobwebs);
5. dusting furniture, shelves, light fixtures, and other surfaces;
6. cleaning restrooms including sinks, toilets, counters, and floors;
7. removing trash; and cleaning windows as necessary.

• Deep clean community common areas according to schedule. 
• Effectively collaborate with team members to improve resident and family experience.
• Attend and participate in onboarding and annual training, in-services and team member meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Environmental Services Director.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Meet state or provincial health related requirements.
• Maintain any certifications as required by state or provincial regulations.
• Desire to work with older adults and their families
• Projects a positive and professional image at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands include:   Standing, Walking, Sitting, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing Stairs, Grasping, Manual Dexterity, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Vision Acuity, Color Vision, Talking, and Hearing.

The weight determined to be appropriate for a Housekeeper to lift with or without reasonable accommodations is up to 50 lbs. 

EXPOSURE RISK CLASSIFICATION:
 May perform unplanned tasks involving exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue which may contain AIDS, HIV, and Hepatitis A, B, and C viruses.
