As a leader in civil infrastructure and stormwater construction, NCC is actively seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to join our growing team in Colorado. Equipment Operators play a vital role in the successful delivery of construction projects by skillfully and safely operating machinery to support earthwork, grading, utility installation, and other construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and motor graders in accordance with safety and productivity standards.
- Read and interpret site plans to perform precise grading, trenching, and backfill operations.
- Perform daily maintenance and pre/post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Adhere to NCC’s safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with the superintendent, foremen, and other crew members to ensure project tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Assist with site setup, cleanup, and general labor duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience on civil construction or infrastructure projects.
- Working knowledge of safe operating procedures and equipment capabilities/limitations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work full shifts outdoors in varied terrain and weather conditions.
Preferred:
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience operating equipment in tight or sensitive urban environments.
- Familiarity with stormwater or utility infrastructure construction.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate uneven terrain.
- Comfortable working in dusty, noisy, and active jobsite conditions.
