Weyerhaeuser is searching for a Land Use Forester to join our team in the Arkansas/Oklahoma Region! This is a full time, exempt position that will report to the Planning and Inventory Manager and is a part of Southern Timberlands Business.The successful candidate must be willing to live within a 60-minute commute of the De Queen or Broken Bow offices.
Key Functions
As a Land Use Forester, you will perform land use activities across approximately 1,038,000 acres of land in the region encompassing Arkansas and Oklahoma. Your primary responsibilities include working with neighboring landowners, handling access/right-of-way requests and issues, boundary line maintenance and discrepancies, small land acquisitions and sales, timber appraisal, issuing and monitoring road use permits, and document requests. You will work closely with utility companies, county and state Department of Transportation, and corporate land title and legal departments.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $79,330-$118,995 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Finance, Legal Studies, Forestry or related field OR equivalent combination of related work experience and education
- At least 6 years of related experience; 10 or more years of related experience is preferred
- Strong analytical skills and thorough understanding of forest economics
- Strong negotiating and contract administration skills
- Knowledge of practical application of forestry Best Management Practices (BMP’s)
- Experience with Forest inventory/GIS systems and willingness to learn and use Weyerhaeuser’s inventory system (FMS)
- Proficient in use of computer software (i.e., Excel)
- Willingness to abide by established safety standards
- Demonstrated leadership and people skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
