Under the general supervision of the Office Supervisor, this position is responsiblefor a variety of complex clerical, administrative, and technical work in theadministration of the Wicomico County Board of Electrical Examiners and theDepartment of Planning, Zoning, and Community Development’s Building Permitsand Inspections Divisions. Duties Include:
- Receiving the public and answering questions;
- Responding to inquiries from employees, citizens, and others and referring to appropriate resources as necessary;
- Serves as secretary for the Wicomico County Board of Electrical Examiners;
- Preparing agendas and supporting materials transcribing, preparing, and distributing minutes and reports (occasional night meetings required);
- Coordinating and assisting in daily office activities and operations;
- Assisting with preparation of the Electrical Board’s annual budget;
- Preparing and monitoring monthly/annual reports;
- Receiving, stamping, and distributing incoming mail, processing outgoing mail;
- Developing correspondence, memos, forms, reports, etc. and using word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs; and
- Collecting fees and preparing deposits for hard copy documents and maps, reviewing fees and plan/plat reviews.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree in Business or Secretarial Science is desirable; 6 months to 1 year of related experience; Knowledge and understanding of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and secretarial techniques; Comprehensive knowledge of business English and spelling; Ability to undertake, organize, and complete operational and administrative projects independently; Ability to perform complex arithmetic calculations; Competency using Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to effectively communicate and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members and members of the public; and Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Pay: $34,001.00 - $37,527.00 per year
