Job Title: Financial Aid Processor

Department: Student Financial Services

Reports To: Director of Student Financial Services

Job Type: This is a full time, non exempt position.

General Description

The Financial Aid Processor provides financial services for students, oversees the disbursement of all aid to student accounts, and supports the Office of Student Financial Service in various tasks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining all student financial aid files by reviewing aid eligibility and processing disbursements of all aid types to student accounts

Identify methods of disbursing aid in accordance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines or regulations

Weekly, monthly, and yearly reconciliation of aid funds

Serve as primary point of contact and provides financial services for both current and prospective students and families

Counsel students and families regarding all financing possibilities, processing steps, payment options, and account status

Assist in developing various information materials: letters, forms, websites, and presentations

Other duties as assigned

Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment

Set priorities and deadlines, ensure projects are completed and respond to questions/problems in a timely manner, organization to meet goals, reason logically, evaluate data, and recommend effective courses of actions

Interpret and apply program rules and regulations

Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse populations and in conjunction with other professionals

Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Ability to work with students in solving problems and planning a strategy for success in achieving the academic goals

Ability to work independently under general supervision

Ability to update, revise and develop new procedures related to changing tasks

Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and financial aid ethics

Preferred Qualifications (not Required To Apply)

Experience in higher education

Experience with financial aid programs or knowledge of US Department of Education systems and websites

Knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations

Work Schedule

This is a non-exempt position, 40 hours per week, 12-month in-office position. Occasional evening or weekend hours during special events on campus is required.
