Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the accounting department and assisting in various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and a passion for numbers.
Duties:
- Assist with preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
- Perform general accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
- Utilize financial software and systems, including PeopleSoft, to perform tasks efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
- Conduct credit analysis and research to support financial decisions
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, as well as analyzing financial trends and variances
- Prepare and present financial reports to management
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of financial services and corporate accounting principles
- Use financial software, such as Quicken, to track and analyze financial data
- Support the preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet reconciliation
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations and policies
- Provide support to external auditors and internal auditors
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as required
Skills:
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems, including PeopleSoft
- Experience with financial services and corporate accounting
- Ability to perform double entry bookkeeping and account analysis
- Excellent credit analysis skills
- Proficient in financial software, including Quicken
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prepare and present financial reports
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Experience in financial software and systems is preferred.
