What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grower 2 position at Willoway Nurseries, INC?
Primary Responsibilities:
- Setting irrigation programs and controls as directed
- Monitoring crop moisture levels
- Monitoring nutrients in plants, soil, and water and mixing fertilizers as directed
- Setting and manipulating environmental controls as directed
- Performing basic to intermediate growing area and irrigation repairs/maintenance
- Performing basic plant maintenance (trimming, moving, weeding, etc.) as directed
- Keeping and reporting accurate records of time-sensitive and mission critical data
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of horticultural/agricultural experience (preferred)
Knowledge:
- Basic plant/horticultural knowledge
Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate (both written & verbal)
- Ability to multi-function
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail oriented
Work Environment: Outdoor 90-100% of time; Be prepared to work in all safe weather conditions caring for the plants.
Work schedule:
M-F 7am-430pm
Weekends on rotational basis, as needed
40-50 hours in Spring
Wage:
$19 /hour depending on experience
