Lakefront Park Patrol 2 Job Summary
The Lakefront Park Patrol is responsible for maintaining proper picnic etiquette and the issuance of permits.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage vehicle traffic at entrances and coordinate daily pass purchases
- Patrol various locations throughout Gillson Beach/Park and Langdon Beach/Park
- Patrol picnic and shelter areas and issue permits
- Enforce all area rules and regulations with consistency
- Assist with park and facility cleanliness
- Comply with established Park District and site procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned based on agency needs
- Actively contribute to the Park Districts’ sustainability goals
Safety Responsibilities:
- Actively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidents
- Obey all Park District and departmental safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Wilmette Park District safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted at the facility and property
- Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Attend and participate in required safety training
- Review all accident and incident reports that occur under the area of responsibility and send them to the Human Resources/Risk Management division
- Responsible for administering minor first aid if needed
- Monitor the learn/play environment for safety hazards
Required Skills/Abilities (Technology, Mathematical, Language):
- Ability to deliver information in a clear and effective manner
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to operate hand-held scanner devices
- Basic mathematical skills required

Education and/or Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds

- Holiday and weekend work is required
