Fall fest cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team at our grocery store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Cashier will also assist with merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions efficiently
• Handle cash and credit transactions with accuracy and integrity
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and addressing their inquiries
• Assist in upselling products and promoting special offers to enhance sales
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed
• Support stocking efforts by replenishing shelves and organizing products as needed
• Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote new items
• Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and sales
• Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply for enhanced customer interaction
• Experience with merchandising and stocking in a grocery store setting is a plus
• Basic math skills are essential for transaction accuracy

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
