What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Accounts Representative position at WinnMed?
WinnMed is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to join our Business Office Department. The Patient Accounts Representative is responsible for preparing accurate patient bills for submission to appropriate insurance companies; ensuring internal audit, system review and accuracy of claim data in electronic record; auditing insurance payments received for accuracy; and responding to insurance and patient inquiries. Full-time, 40-hours per week. 8-hour day shifts between the hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm. Monday - Friday. No weekends, no holidays. Remote work optional, in-person training required.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of two years experience in Medical Billing or courses in Medical Office, HIM, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Basic math skills
- Customer service skills for interacting with patients
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is beneficial
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines including Medicare and Medicaid is beneficial
