GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 

Wintergreen Resort Tennis is looking for highly motivated individual to join our TEAM. Our facilities at both Devils Knob and Stoney Creek total 16 clay courts and 3 indoor deco-turf courts. Nestled at the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains and 40 miles from Charlottesville, Wintergreen also features 45 holes of world-class golf, five restaurants on-site; a newly expanded spa and fitness center; conference facilities; award-winning nature programs; 30 miles of maintained hiking trails; and nationally-recognized activities programs. The Wintergreen community consists of over 3500 homes and condominiums, and many residents are Members of the resort.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote and sell tennis merchandise in the tennis shop.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of tennis shop.
• Greet members and guests and assist the pros in introducing and selling tennis programs, clinics, rates and packages, assist in arranging matches.
• Set up merchandising displays, control inventory levels and receiving merchandise.
• Know current merchandise and actively promote sales of merchandise to members and guests.
• Responsible for pro shop inventory and restocking of merchandise.
• Insure that computers, printers and office equipment are functioning correctly.
• Monitor shop supplies, bulletin boards, and other supply usage and inform Director.
• Price merchandise competitively and display merchandise attractively.
• Sell merchandise; establish budget targets and order merchandise as needed, ensuring to stay within budgetary guidelines.
• Coordinate sales events (i.e. end-of-season sales, holiday related sales, etc.).
• Market and prepare special orders for members.
• Keep pro shop and facility organized.
• Coordinate inventory control.
• Receive and enter merchandise into retail computer system.
• Develop knowledge of all software (yellow Dog, SMS, Court Reserve, and Net Suite).
• Maintain a knowledge of all retail products in the pro shop.
• Know rates and current program schedule, sign up members/guests for events, book court reservation sheets, monitor sign ups and program binders.
• Accurately take and relay messages for Director and all other pros.
• May be required to perform routine court maintenance responsibilities as needed (brush, line, water) and have basic understanding of court watering system.
• Complete any other tasks as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports.
• Assist members with reserving courts and scheduling lessons.
• Accurately record all tennis reservations on a timely basis.
• Book and schedule lessons, clinics and put them in the reservation system.
• Be able to explain our racquet programs and know rates for lessons/clinics.
• Advertise racquet programs and events creatively.
• Develop and assist with graphics, signage, email blasts, flyers, newsletters, and POP.
• Handle member inquiries by phone, email and in person in a polite manner.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with racquets professional staff.
• Be professional, courteous and customer service oriented at all times.
• Create/update files on the shared folder as needed.
• Communicate scheduling, events, and new products in conjunction with the Marketing.
• Coordinate and work with all vendors.
• Handle and help resolve complaints, inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Report maintenance issues and concerns.
• Assist in racquet stringing as needed.
• Potential to help with video with GreatBase Tennis Camps.
