Resort Services – General Maintenance Technician

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 

Wintergreen Resort Services is searching for an experienced, skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our hard-working team.  Daily duties for this position will include, but are not limited to: responding to general maintenance, plumbing, and electrical service calls.  Workers in this position will also assist Level II and Level III Technicians in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing jobs where a helper is needed.  G.M. Techs will also perform preventive maintenance lighting and HVAC & R checks.

SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Considered applicants will have a general knowledge of, and the ability to perform, maintenance work. Good customer service and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to provide appropriate information on work orders, through emails, and in phone conversations are all musts. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record in order to be considered.  In addition, candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

On a daily basis, technicians may perform a variety of physical tasks, including but not limited to: sitting, standing with movement, walking, bending/stooping, crawling, accessing crawl spaces, climbing stairs and ladders, working on scaffolding, reaching above and below shoulder, crouching, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling; repetitive hand and foot motion; hearing and vision abilities in accordance with the physical task analysis.  Candidates must be able to perform strenuous physical labor; this includes working outdoors under extreme seasonal weather conditions.

Technicians should be able to lift up to 100 pounds with use of dolly or assistance from another technician.
