JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: SKI - Snow Groomer
FLSA: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Ski
REPORTS TO: Manager, Mountain Operations
SUMMARY:
Must be able to perform grooming operations, in a safe manner, with limited supervision. Wintergreen takes pride in producing the best snow surface for our customers. Much of this work is done late at night to keep the slopes open for daytime operations.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Able to groom slopes to produce the best product possible for our guests.
- Have a positive attitude towards guest service.
- Able to respond quickly to requests by Management.
- Understand and perform all safety aspects of equipment operation.
- Be aware of skiers/snowboarders on runs and traverses.
- Be aware of fixed obstacles; hydrants, manholes, transformers, etc.
- Use lights and other warning equipment at all times.
- Assure equipment is in safe working order prior to and during its use.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Skill & Abilities in:
- Qualified applicants will be in good physical condition and able to work 12 hour shifts outside in adverse weather conditions.
- Be able to lift over 80 pounds when necessary.
- Capable of walking on snow safely.
- Be able to operate a snowmobile in a safe manner.
- Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with Manager, Compressor Building, and other snowmakers by use of two-way radio.
- Additionally, candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma OR GED.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted Virginia driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Required to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, kneel, stretch, reach, lift, climb and walk.
- Occasional lifting of objects of up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to tolerate long hours on the job and working in cold weather conditions.
