Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Description:
This position is a multi-functional maintenance position. Responsible for performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery as well as troubleshooting problems in a timely manner to keep machine downtime at a minimum. Tasks (e.g. changing out transmissions, gearboxes, motors, motor controllers, relays, and other electrical components.)
Essential Job Functions:
- Performing routine and preventive machine maintenance.
- Basic fabrication and equipment wiring.
- Facility maintenance.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED with at least two years of experience in facility maintenance.
- Associates Degree in a technical field preferred. Additional experience may be substituted for an Associated Degree. Welding certifications are a plus.
- Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Mathematics – Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics.
- Electrical – Understanding of basic electrical principles and wiring of equipment.
- PLC – PLC Programming
- Time Management – Managing your own time.
- Instructing – Must be able to teach others how to perform tasks.
- Repairing – Repairing machines as well as the facility.
- Equipment Maintenance – Performing routine maintenance and determining when and what is needed.
- Troubleshooting – Determining causes of errors and deciding a plan of action to correct the error.
- Welding – Must be able to proficiently use an oxy-acetylene torch, plasma cutter, and MIG welder
Physical Demands
- Ability to push 100 pounds (Equipment and Machinery); ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds (Motors and Transmissions). Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb ladder and step ladder.
- Color vision.
- Hearing.
- Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontal, walking, etc., as the job may require.
- Ability to see details at a close range.
- Ability to work overhead for periods of time.
- Requires high manual dexterity and fine motor skills in both hands.
Schedule
- 2nd Shift
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime possible
