Our capabilities are constantly expanding and currently include metal stamping, laser cutting, brake forming, tubular stamped components, CNC and Swiss machined parts, wire forms, thread rolling, weldments, and integrated assemblies. Our modern facility includes a complete in-house tool and die department and fastener distributorship.
The Automation Team is responsible for the planning, designing, programming, testing, start up, and commissioning of automation systems throughout our manufacturing facilities.
The Senior Automation Engineer is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of the Automation Team.

Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directing the activities of the Automation Team
- Developing the robotics and automation roadmap for manufacturing facilities
- Directing and managing the design and building of automation systems
- Responsible for overseeing scope, cost, and schedule of automation projects ' including system designs, bills of materials and specifications
- Manage vendor selection, specifying automation equipment and robots and gathering RFQ's
- Research and stay current with best available technologies related to automation
- Programming of HMI's, PLC's, robots, and vision systems
- Testing and debugging of systems prior to placing in production
- Provide technical support as required to ensure plant robots are operating and optimized, including troubleshooting and operator training
- Create and maintain schematics and drawings for automation systems
- Assist management and plant personnel in development and implementation of efficiency projects
- Other duties as assigned
- 5 years experience in factory automation, designing and implementing industrial robotic equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills. 3D / CAD experience - preferably SolidWorks
- Strong project management skills
- Able to translate automation conceptual designs into functional systems
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Positive, 'can do' attitude
- B.S. or associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering/technology or related field
- Experience with Fanuc and Universal robots and vision systems
- Management experience
