Job Summary
The School of Music at the University of Southern Mississippi seeks to hire an oboist for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The anticipated hire date will be on or around August 13, 2025.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching expectations – Teach applied oboe and other courses within the candidate's area(s) of interest and experience in order to meet the equivalent of a 3x3 teaching load.
- Expectations for Creative Activities – Maintain an active performance schedule both on and off campus. Other creative activities might include producing a professional recording, commissioning or premiering new works, or presenting at professional conferences, among others.
- Service expectations – Recruit undergraduate and graduate oboe students and engage in service activities within the School of Music, as well as across the university. Faculty are also encouraged to serve or otherwise participate in their professional organizations.
