The Employee Experience Manager leads the vision, strategy, and execution of onboarding, orientation, and employee engagement initiatives across Woodcraft Rangers. This position supervises the Onboarding Specialist and Employee Experience Specialist and is responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality experience from new hire intake through long-term engagement milestones. The Manager will use data and employee feedback to shape programming, support retention efforts, and promote an inclusive and values-aligned workplace across all departments and levels.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and support the Onboarding and Employee Experience team; drive performance, growth, and alignment with organizational priorities
- Oversee the end-to-end onboarding experience including New Hire Orientation, onboarding schedules, 30/60/90 plans, and post-onboarding engagement
- Collaborate with HR and department leaders to continuously improve onboarding and integration practices across multiple departments and locations
- Develop and implement strategies that foster employee engagement, belinging, and retention
- Lead employee lifecycle initiatives, including recognition programs, milestone celebrations, staff feedback tools (stay interviews, surveys, etc.)
- Regularly assess onboarding and engagement effectiveness through data collection and employee feedback; translate findings into action plans
- Design and facilitate onboarding and engagement workshops, manager toolkits, and culture-building materials
- Partner with senior HR leadership on workforce development efforts that align with the Lifecraft program
- Ensure all onboarding and engagement initiatives reflect the organization's DEI goals and inclusive workplace values
- Maintain standard operating procedures and documentation for onboarding, engagement, and retention programs
- Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration to build onboarding timelines and connection points for field and support staff
- Stay current on industry’s best practices and propose innovative improvements to elevate the employee experience across the organization
- Lead monthly onboarding review meetings and engagement trend analyses with the broader HR team and leadership
- Support special events, all-staff engagement activities, and learning opportunities throughout the year
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred
- 5 years of progressive HR or employee experience work, including 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Strong background in onboarding design, employee engagement, and organizational culture initiatives
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred), project management tools, and employee survey platforms
- Experience working in nonprofits, education, youth-serving, or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills; able to build high-performing and inclusive teams
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities
- Strategic thinker with strong organizational and project management capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders with professional and care
