This role is crucial in supporting our Business Office under the direction of the Director of Business Services. Position Summary:

In this role, you will handle payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Your work will ensure the smooth financial operations of Woodlands School, contributing to the educational mission of preparing students for lifelong learning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Payroll:

  • Process full-cycle employee payroll, including salaried and hourly employees, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Reconcile, process, and pay payroll payables, including federal and state taxes, retirement contributions, and garnishments.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure timely processing of updates, new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.
  • Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related inquiries and ensure compliance with payroll laws and best practices.
  • Handle year-end preparation, processing, and reporting.

Accounts Payable:

  • Process, record, verify, and pay invoices and expenses for goods and services.
  • Oversee vendor maintenance, including contract collection, W9s, 1099 processing, invoice payments, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain, analyze, and reconcile accounts payable ledger accounts.
  • Develop and evaluate accounts payable policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal and external controls.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and recommend solutions.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Prepare, record, verify, analyze, and report accounts receivable transactions and post customer payments.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable ledger accounts and financial statements.
  • Assist in identifying potential problem accounts and follow up on delinquent accounts.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other administrative duties, including ordering office supplies and assisting with registrar duties.
  • Scan and convert physical documents into digital formats and maintain digital recordkeeping systems.
  • Assist with miscellaneous paperwork and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Three to five years of related experience.
  • Experience running the full life cycle of payroll.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, methods, and practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in current technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Experience using Skyward is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
