Responsibilities
- Provide grooming services for various types of pets, including bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling fur.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, using appropriate restraint techniques when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness in the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after use.
- Communicate with pet owners about their pets' needs, providing recommendations for grooming and care.
- Build rapport with clients to foster trust and encourage repeat business.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in pet grooming techniques and styles.
Skills
- Proficient in animal handling and care, with experience in dog handling preferred.
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming sessions.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their concerns.
- Experience as a veterinary assistant or in a veterinary setting is a plus..
