Job Overview
The Inspector ensures all parts meet internal and customer quality requirements in an ISO 9001:2015 environment. This role owns inspection plans, dimension‑tag (dim‑tag) plans, in‑process checks, and final inspections. The Inspector supports customer quality interactions, manages calibration activities, and contributes to continuous improvement across the shop. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and alignment with Hungry, Humble, Smart values.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Quality Control
· Create and maintain inspection plans and dim‑tag plans.
· Perform in‑process, first‑piece, and final inspections.
· Document results and communicate findings clearly.
· Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
Customer & Internal Communication
· Communicate with customers regarding quality questions or issues.
· Work with machinists, programmers, and leads to resolve quality concerns promptly.
Equipment & Calibration
· Manage calibration schedules and records for all inspection equipment.
· Ensure tools are maintained, accurate, and properly used.
Continuous Improvement
· Identify quality trends or recurring issues and recommend improvements.
· Support training on measurement methods and inspection expectations.
· Promote lean, consistent, and error‑reducing quality practices.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 3–5 years of inspection, machining, or manufacturing experience.
· Strong ability to read technical drawings and GD&T.
· Proficient with standard measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.).
· Experience with CMMs or advanced inspection tools is a plus.
· Clear communication skills and a commitment to quality and improvement.
Preferred Experience
· Inspection plan and dim‑tag planning experience.
· Customer-facing quality communication.
· Familiarity with lean tools and problem‑solving methods.
· Experience with digital QMS/ERP systems (e.g., ProShop).
