We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk / Radiology Assistant to join our Central Storage team.
Job Summary
The Medical Records Clerk/Radiology Assistant is responsible for handling the distribution of imaging records, facilitating communication between patients and referring providers, and supporting radiologists with STAT report delivery. This role includes inter-site travel and requires excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and distribute CDs/DVDs or electronically transfer imaging records to patients and referring facilities
- Process incoming faxes, soft copies, and medical record requests from external offices
- Answer and direct phone calls, gather information, and assist patients and providers
- Communicate STAT radiology results to referring physicians on behalf of radiologists
- Travel between XRANM sites to perform assigned tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Valid New Mexico driver’s license, clean driving record, and personal vehicle with insurance (Required)
- Proficiency with Windows Operating System
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems
- Ability to maintain HIPAA privacy and security standards
Preferred Skills
- Customer service experience in a medical setting
- Familiarity with medical records systems and imaging software
