PMD Engineering Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The PMD Engineering Technician will manage projects from concept through development and production. They will assist in plant operations
contributing towards improving manufacturing efficiencies by utilizing continuous improvement techniques. They will support in the management of prototype and sample tank builds.

Essential Functions

- Take action promptly to correct or remove all workplace hazards and unsafe working conditions.
- Comply and maintain all equipment, process, safety, and management standards.
- Manage fabrication projects from development through the production process, insuring that time lines and budgets are met.
- Support Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Department, and Customer to ensure prototypes and samples are delivered in a timely manner, and meeting all aspects of the customer specification.
- Conduct process studies and make recommendations for process, machine, and material improvements to enhance manufacturing and maintenance efficiencies.
- Support the management of continuous improvement activities as designed by PMD Engineers and Management.
- Participate in the development of the annual business plan, long-range plan, and other action-oriented plans as directed by management. Ensure that action-oriented plans for his department are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that he/she is in compliance with established work rules and procedures regarding performance or work, etc.
- Any other duties as directed by management.
- Ensure there are no interruptions or errors due to lack of giving or seeking information by fully informing the supervisor of all events affecting plant operations.
- Ensure that all aspects of his/her area of responsibility are in full compliance with the quality system in place at the operation at all times.

Work Environment
This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Working overtime and/or weekends may be required as necessary.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
- Knowledge in TS16949 Principles
Preferred Education and Experience
- AS Degree in an Engineering or Technical field
- Lean Manufacturing
- Training or degree in Plant Manufacturing Techniques and Procedures, 5S
- Computer literate
