Responsibilities
The Jorgensen Family YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is seeking responsible and personable junior lifeguards to join our team to create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in and around the indoor pools in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
- Serve: Maintain constant and diligent surveillance of the pool at all times and respond to emergency situations.
- Lead: Enforce all aquatics rules and policies on a fair and consistent basis.
- Support: Perform daily cleaning (cleaning windows, picking up guard room, collecting lost and found, emptying trash, cleaning tables and chairs, and returning all equipment to its proper place, etc.).
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- At least 15 years old.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours.
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Current Lifeguard Certification preferred or ability to get certified.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Salary: Part-time $11.00-$11.50 hourly
